The location of the 5K By the Bay has been changed from Pacific Grove to Monterey to accommodate a larger number of entrants. We will now meet at the Monterey Bay Park (Window on the Bay) next to the volleyball courts at the intersection of Del Monte Ave. and Camino El Estero, Monterey.
MCSIG members of all ages will be treated to spectacular ocean views as they make their way along the Monterey Bay Recreation Trail for our first ever 5K By the Bay on November 20, 2021.
Participants start at Lover’s Point in Pacific Grove and walk, run or roll towards the Monterey Bay Aquarium, turn-around at the half-way point and return to the starting area. Multiple distances are available from 1 mile (kids), 2 mile and 5K (3.1 miles). Wheelchairs, kick scooters, roller skates, and strollers are all welcome. Dogs on leash are permitted.
5K By the Bay is free for all MCSIG members and starts at 9 a.m. at Lover’s Point, Pacific Grove. Covid-19 safety protocols will be followed. Participants are encouraged to arrive at 8:30 a.m. to park (street parking is free) and sign in. Everyone who attends will receive a free entry gift and lunch while supplies last. The team with the best costume will receive a special prize.
