Proactively focusing on wellness helps prevent avoidable illnesses, improve quality of life and minimize health care costs. At Municipalities, Colleges, Schools Insurance Group (MCSIG), we strive to promote wellness through a variety of programs, services and educational resources that encourage and support healthy lifestyles.
In 2012 the MCSIG Board commissioned a medical claims analysis of the MCSIG Wellness Program. The analysis found that participants had 36 percent lower claim costs compared to nonparticipants, saving our group 2 million over the five-year study period (ROI $1.83 for every dollar spent).
